According to NEPRA Act (XL of 1997), an important regulatory function of the NEPRA is to grant of licences to Generation, Transmission, and Distribution companies for engaging in electric power business subject to specified terms and conditions. If deemed fit, public hearings are also held prior to issuing of a licence in which all stakeholders have the opportunity to express their views. The determinations issued contain a discussion of all the relevant issues.
