17. National
Grid Company.-
(1) The Authority may, after such enquiry as
it may deem appropriate and subject to the conditions specified in this Act and as It may
impose, grant a licence authorizing the licensee, to engage in the transmission of
electric power:
Provided that only one Such licence shall be granted
at any one time.
(2) The licensee referred to in
sub-section (1) shall have the exclusive right to provide transmission service in the
territory specified in such licence excepting the territory served by KESC
